We hired Matthew/DJ Mar for our wedding last month, we used both his DJing and photo booth services. When we told our venue (Altadena Town and Country Club) that he was who we were going with, they all raved about him, saying things like "he's the best", "super fun", and "we love him". And they were all right! Matthew was great, got everyone out on the dance floor and brought the exact fun/easygoing vibe to our big day that we were hoping for. Would absolutely recommend his services!

My sister booked Matthew for her wedding reception DJ, uplighting and Photo Booth as well as a custom monogram projection, and we couldn’t be happier. He was super helpful and helped us keep our tight schedule on track. He made sure to check in with us as we moved along to make sure we were doing ok and the Photo Booth was a hit everyone loved it, the uplighting made the room look beautiful as the lights began to dim and the monogram was perfect… Definitely would book him again!

I don’t think I can fit all the great things I could possibly say about Matthew AKA DJ MAR.
He is one of the most professional people I have ever worked with and on top of that he is an amazing DJ.
He is such a good DJ, I wouldn’t be surprised if I found out one day he was headlining EDC.
I recently got married, April 2024.
I have never been married before, nor hired a DJ in my life so like most people I was a bit worried hiring someone
For our big day. We met him at a wedding open house and we really liked his attitude and how he presented himself.
Without looking around for another DJ, we went with our gut and hired him the following week and we are so glad we hired him.
He was available via text 24/7 whenever I had a question or concern and was always able to resolve any issues in a timely manner.
We had a live musical group play at our wedding ceremony and he went above and beyond to coordinate with them and help them with their audio.
DJ MAR arrived early to set up to make sure everything went perfect. He also dresses for the occasion, so you don’t have to worry about him coming in shorts and a T shirt for your wedding.
I also forgot to add, he is a one man team, so you don’t need to hire an emcee and he is a fantastic one at that.
We had minor time hiccups during our wedding and DJ MAR was able to adapt without any direction. He is honestly so good at his job, it is impressive.
During the open dance portion of our wedding, he did such a great job to pump up the crowd and read the room that he had everyone dancing and I swear I even saw the groom from a neighboring wedding peek into our room at some point and I even saw the security guard dancing!

If you are planning a wedding, I wouldn’t hesitate to hire him. I think the biggest fear getting married is not hearing from your vendors for awhile and worrying they wont show up. I was worried too, trust me but DJ MAR wont leave you hanging and if you ever need to talk to him, you can shoot him a text
And he will assure you everything is ok.

Matthew was an amazing DJ for our wedding! He confirmed everything before the event to make sure he said everything correctly and made sure he had the correct songs for each portion of the evening. The night went off without a hitch because of his organization and the dance floor was full and fun the whole night. Also, the photobooth was a huge hit with our guests! Overall, we would hire Matthew again for any future events.

DJ Mars made our night so much fun! I had the goal in mind for the reception to have everyone on the dance floor the whole night and he was the reason why that happened. We keep getting compliments about how much fun our wedding was and I know DJ Mars is a big reason for that! From the ceremony, to cocktail hour to reception, the music was perfect. Not only was he an awesome DJ, he made planning the wedding so easy. My husband and I did the Photo Booth as our guest sign in and everyone loved it! I highly recommend DJ Mars for your next event. You won’t be disappointed!

This review is so long overdue - but if you are still looking for your DJ you can stop here. My Twins Graduation Party was truly amazing and we give a huge amount of credit to DJ Mar Events for that, especially our DJ Matt. Matt was absolutely amazing to work with from start to finish. He was always so responsive and really helped us figure out what would work best any time we were indecisive. Matt took a ton of time to get to know us and made sure my twins graduation party truly reflected our personal style. And everyone had such a great time, which was really the most important thing to us. Family and friends are still telling me how much fun they had at my Twins Graduation Party! DJ Mar Events was honestly one of the best decisions I made, so seriously, if you are still looking for your DJ - stop. You will not be disappointed! 🙂 Highly HIGHLY recommend!

Matthew a.k.a DJ Mar is one of the best DJs I've ever worked with. He went above and beyond during my sister's wedding, with the music, ceremony, grand entrance and timeline. Every thing was well coordinated because Matthew was very flexible and easy to communicate with. My sister gave a list of music she wanted for her reception and he was able to deliver exactly what she wants and more. Our wedding party was a multi-racial party and he was able to play music that everyone can enjoy. Have I mentioned that he also has a photo booth option? Who doesn't love photo booths? It was a hit with all of our guests and love love love that there are videos ad well. I would definitely recommend him to all my friends and family .

We used DJ Mar for our daughter’s Sweet 16 and we had a lot of fun. During the planning, Matthew is attentive, respectful and easy to work with. We rented the up lights and they looked beautiful throughout the hall. Priscilla is wonderful and manages the PhotoBooth, which was a big hit at the party. She also helped with the flow of events and I am so grateful for that. I highly recommend DJ Mar for any event. You’re in good hands 🙂
