The teachers are really good and patient. It would help if you knew in advance when the teachers will not be in attendance just in case Questions need to be asked. Some of them go above and beyond by working overtime and being very patient and others are just very helpful and patient. The one thing that bothers me when you do it online sometimes there system acts up and we are left wondering if it will be straight overall it’s good.

I love being able to help my child understand her assignments in different ways. If she doesn't understand something I have been able to spend more time on that subject while she flies through another one. Her teacher always responds to emails within 24 hrs and we do catch up work on weekends. My child loves to do the projects and see the responses of her teachers and read the feedback on how she can do better. I would recommend Connections Academy to anyone who really wants to be involved in their child's education and will give their child the encouragement and help they need in the subjects they have difficulty in.

My son is loving this new path to a great education. He is back to being an A student and reaching his full potential. As a family, we very much appreciate the freedom his schedule allows. We chose SCCA when Covid issues were presenting challenges to our local brick and mortar school as 6th grade e-learning was really not learning at all. However, this year both my son and our family chose it again because it offered us a quality education with such lifestyle flexibility. Recently, many local schools have been interrupted with health and weather issues and have resorted to e-learning again. I'm glad we have a constant quality option for his middle school education!

So I’m trying to give this school the benefit of the doubt but seriously. The lack of communication is terrible when I try to reach out about why my child can’t log on, can’t do her work. I actually sent emails to her teacher letting her know I will be in boot camp for 2 weeks and I have someone designated to help her. When I didn’t hear back I called and no answer. So now two weeks later and guess what somehow my child and I are being punished for the teacher lack of communication. Locking a child out of their account does not help the situation. At this point I would just like to take her out this school and find one that cares

We were with SC Connections Academy for seven years. In those years, my student had wonderful teachers and excelled with the academic flexibility. She was able to follow an academic path that best fit her needs and goals. With the flexibility of working hours, she was able to have life adventures not otherwise possible. The only academic issue we had during this time was a lack of the availability, even at the national level, of honors and AP level science classes.

I wish I could give them negative stars. Over the course of three weeks, I have spoken to numerous individuals. I have waited on hold for over and hour each time. I have had to call and call. Every time I call it is something different. If there was an issue and I addressed it, then another issue would materialize. They seemed to not want my child in school because of all of the issues they developed so that he could not be enrolled. I asked to speak with a supervisor, the supervisor did not want to get on the phone but just relayed a message. My child has missed almost 2 weeks of school dealing with their incompetence.

This program is a big disappointment. It's hard to get started with the connexus program and the help given isn't so helpful. Lesson time isn't kept by the actual amount your child works but rather only in the amount of time they think a lesson should take. Many of the lessons and the assessments within are not developmentally or grade level appropriate. State testing is mandated to be done in person at a convention center. Students are withdrawn less than a month from completion of the school year if they don't attend state testing. SCAA is only concerned with increasing student population for additional funding and test scores.
