Schöner kleiner Ausstellungsraum. Bei meinen Besuchen gab es immer eine entspannte Atmosphäre.

The Takt Berlin Residency Program is an incredible experience that I highly recommend. It provides artists and writers with a supportive space to focus on their creative practice while connecting with a vibrant international community. The studio spaces are excellent, and the program offers thoughtful opportunities to engage with Berlin’s dynamic art scene.
A special mention goes to the program director, who is absolutely wonderful—warm, supportive, and deeply invested in fostering a positive and inspiring environment for all participants. Their dedication truly elevates the residency experience, making it both enriching and unforgettable!

Super cozy gallery in nice area in Berlin.
It was pleasure to collaborate with Antje and TAKT Residence to present my work there.
I was happy to enjoy the concept of exhibition and works of other Ukrainian artists!
Thanks a lot for support and enjoyable experience ?

This residency is exactly what you should do if you are a self motivated artist that wants to be around other talented international artists, in the best city in the world right now for art. My time in Berlin in this residency expanded my art practice to a whole new dimension. My studio/apartment was a nice accommodation and in a safe neighborhood. I made lifelong friendship with the other artists participating in the session. The art crits are productive and helpful. The Takt Gallery Space will give you street exposure and Takt invites their large network of people to your show openings and they provide the promotional posters etc. Through this exposure I was able to sell all but one painting during my whole residency.
The hosts Antje and Bern are trustworthy, engaged and dedicated. They go above and beyond to make sure you feel welcome and that you have a meaningful time with your art practice while in Berlin. A few of my favorite activities that the hosts of Takt arranged for our group was a day of attending professional Berlin open studio sessions. The studios, art and artists were so inspiring! I also really appreciated that the hosts took the time with us to tour the Boros collection. They also invited us to an intimate piano concert which was incredible! My point is they are well connected to the art scene and the city and help offer opportunities for residents to experience different layers of the art scene while also giving you full freedom to do what you want.
With love and gratitude for this experience I highly recommend if you are considering this opportunity you should go for it! It's the best way to ensure you will have a safe apartment + studio space (for a great price), a gallery show, and be in an artist community with hosts that care.

Overall, this was a very good experience. Coming to a new city and having an instant community was such a lovely way to experience the city. I felt a strong connection to the artist energy and community in Berlin. I got a lot of writing done and loved the experience of expanding my own creative practice (writing) to include the visual arts. There was a beautiful sense of collaboration in the group and this is hard to find. Email correspondence with the organizers was sometimes slow and there could be more organized events, but overall a lovely experience!

I am returned to Takt this summer for the second time. My first experience, two years ago was excellent and I was not disappointed this time. Overall, this is an excellent residency with space for creative work, an introduction to the Berlin arts scene, and a supportive community of international artists exploring a range of media.
The variety of programming is a distinguishing feature of this residency. During the May-June residency Takt offered: three solo show openings with separate talks by the artists; two talks partnering with another Berlin residency; tours of the Boros collection; a talk by two resident artists; and four gallery tours. Exchange of ideas and fellowship was offered with gatherings at local pub and wine bars. We also enjoyed a pot-luck dinner and movie nights together. Weekly critiques were safe spaces to share work, ask questions and challenge each other’s ideas. There were also regular suggestions about interesting openings, music, and dance events. Public talks and Takt gallery events were well attended and I met many people from outside the program.
I have participated in several other residencies in the past. Usually, I was provided a studio, living quarters and little else. I often had to introduce myself to the other artists and we had to organize our activities. There were no talks, tours, studio visits, language lessons, or crits. Takt does so much more.
I’m am grateful to the leadership of Takt and to my fellow artists for a rich experience. I wish them all the best.

Super nice people and great atmosphere. Artists from all around the world and engaging in all kinds of artistic expression show their work in these spaces, most of them after spending some months in Berlin as part of the residency program, which offers a big variety of activities and accommodation in nicely arranged shared flats. Absolutely recommended!

I was very excited to return to Takt on my own, having stayed there twice previously with my partner. I found the group was dynamic and social and you really got out of the experience what you asked for. I went and saw many openings and galleries with the group at night, I attended many of the organised gallery visits which were amazing and facilitated genuine relationships with artists and galleries. There were so many events that often I decided to stay in my studio and work. I was impressed with Long’s proactive approach to seek one on one meetings with artists which was beneficial to our ongoing support for our practices. I also stayed in the Leipzig studio which was quieter and really good for getting work done. I visited some great exhibitions in Leipzig which helped me figure some things out. When I returned to Berlin for the group show, I quickly was welcomed back into the new family of Takt residents and felt supported to engage in genuine discourse with the artists. It’s easy to complain about anything in your life but harder to look inward and ask what you did to attract that outcome, what role did you play in your experience?. Sometimes we are expressing our frustration with our work and progress as an artist and projecting it onto other things and people. No one owes you a favour, get busy and make good work and seek opportunities with like minded people. Takt residency offered many opportunities for this and I recommend it as a residency for people wanting a place to engage in art life in Berlin. I was challenged and supported and loved the other residents. Thanks to everyone who showed such warmth and kindness.
